O que dizem os donos

The Word on the Street

4.2/5 (24 reviews)
👍 Owners consistently rave about the upgradeability, loving that they can easily swap out the RAM and add a second SSD down the line.
👎 A recurring frustration is the missing webcam, which feels like a bizarre omission for a laptop that's otherwise pitched as a hybrid work-and-play machine.
🤔 Build quality gets mixed reactions, with some users pointing out that only select panels are metal while others feel plasticky.

Performance

That 240Hz screen is the real deal. It's fast, vibrant, and makes everything from spreadsheets to shooters look buttery smooth. The GTX 1660 Ti is a solid 1080p performer, but it's not going to push modern AAA titles anywhere near that 240Hz ceiling without seriously dialing down settings. What surprised us most was the heat. This thing runs toasty under load, and the cooling system, while clever on paper, seems to struggle keeping the chassis comfortable during extended gaming sessions.

vs Competition

Stacked against a Lenovo Legion Pro 7i, the Zephyrus M gets absolutely smoked in raw gaming power, though the Lenovo is a much chunkier machine. The HP OMEN Transcend 14 is a more modern take on the slim gaming laptop, offering newer hardware in a similar footprint. If you need a laptop for creative work first and gaming second, the MacBook Pro M4 Pro is in a different universe for performance and battery life, but it's not a Windows gaming rig. The Zephyrus M sits in an awkward middle ground where it's not the most powerful and not the most portable.

Value & Pricing

The value here is a tough pill to swallow. You're paying a premium for the slim build and that incredible screen, but the core gaming hardware is mid-range at best. We've seen prices all over the map, from $980 to a frankly absurd $45,758. If you can snag it near the lower end of that spread, it becomes a much more interesting proposition, but at its typical asking price, you're leaving a lot of performance on the table.

Overview

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M GU502 is a laptop that looks like it belongs in a boardroom but secretly wants to frag noobs on its lunch break. The star of the show is that gorgeous 240Hz display, which is Pantone validated and covers full sRGB, making it a sneaky good choice for creators who also game. But the whole package is held back by a GPU that feels a generation behind and a price tag that makes you wonder where your money actually went.

Common Questions

Q: Does this laptop have a webcam?

Nope, and it's one of the weirdest omissions on this machine. You'll need to grab an external USB webcam if you plan on doing any video calls.

Q: Can I upgrade the RAM and storage myself?

Absolutely. The bottom panel comes off easily, and you've got access to two M.2 slots and two RAM sticks. It's one of the best things about this laptop.

Q: Is the 'Glacier Blue' color actually blue?

Barely. In person, it's mostly a silver chassis with a very subtle cool tint. Don't expect a bright blue laptop.

Who Should Skip This

If you're a serious gamer who wants to max out settings on new releases, this isn't it. The GTX 1660 Ti is showing its age, and you'll get way more frames per dollar from a thicker laptop with an RTX 3060 or better. Go grab a Lenovo Legion instead.

Verdict

The Zephyrus M is a laptop defined by its compromises. You get a world-class display and a travel-friendly design, but you have to accept last-gen gaming performance, no webcam, and a chassis that gets uncomfortably warm. It's a solid choice if you find it at a steep discount and your gaming needs are modest, but for most people, there are better-rounded options available for the same money.
