With 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, it multitasks like a champ for office work, and the port situation is an absolute dream. Two Thunderbolt 3 ports, two USB-A, full-size HDMI, and even a real Ethernet jack? In a 1.13kg laptop? Modern flagships could never. The flip side is the integrated Intel UHD graphics, which land in the 17th percentile of our database. That's a polite way of saying it's a weak spot. Don't expect to do any GPU-heavy lifting here.

Stacked against a new Apple MacBook Air M5 or a Microsoft Surface Laptop 7th Edition, the X1 Carbon gets absolutely smoked in performance and display quality.
