Sennheiser HD 620S
The 150-ohm aluminum voice coil delivers ultra-low distortion and precise impulse response for lifelike vocal clarity across all frequencies. Its closed-back, over-ear design provides strong passive isolation, making it a focused listening tool despite the 454g weight. These wired headphones are best for analytical listeners and mixing engineers who prioritize sonic precision over gaming or portable convenience.

Performance
The angled 42mm drivers are the star here. Sennheiser tilted them to mimic a speaker setup, and it works. The soundstage is shockingly wide for a closed back, and the 150-ohm aluminum voice coil keeps things snappy. Bass is balanced, not bloated, and vocals sit right where they should. The 6Hz-30kHz range is mostly marketing fluff, but the low distortion is real. Our sound score lands in the 82nd percentile, which puts it ahead of most things you'll find at Best Buy. The mic is a weak spot, but you're not buying these for Zoom calls.

vs Competition
Against the Sony ULT WEAR, the HD 620S wins on pure sound quality but loses on features. The Sony has ANC and wireless, the Sennheiser has neither. The Technics EAH-A800 is a closer fight, with better comfort and connectivity, but the Sennheiser still edges it out on that open, natural presentation. If you want a wireless all-rounder, get the Sony. If you want the best wired sound in a closed back under $400, this is it.

価格
Value & Pricing
The price is all over the place. In the US you'll see anywhere from $260 to $400 depending on where you look, and in Europe it's €230 to €352. That's a huge spread for the same headphones. If you're in the US, the $260 listing is the one to grab. At that price, this is a steal. At $400, you're paying a premium for the Sennheiser name and you should shop around first.

Overview
The Sennheiser HD 620S is the closed-back headphone for people who hate closed-back headphones. It takes the natural, airy sound the 600 series is famous for and stuffs it into a sealed design that actually blocks out your noisy roommates. The one thing to know: this is the rare closed can that doesn't make music sound like it's happening inside a closet.
Common Questions
Q: Do these need an amp?
At 150 ohms, they'll run off a decent laptop or dongle, but a proper amp or audio interface will wake them up. If you're plugging straight into a phone, expect to crank the volume.
Q: Are they good for gaming?
For single-player immersion, yes. The imaging is great and you'll hear details other headsets miss. But the mic is bad, so get a separate one if you play online.
Q: How much sound do they leak?
Less than open-backs, obviously, but don't expect total silence. They isolate well enough for an office or a shared apartment, just not for a loud bus.
Who Should Skip This
If you need wireless, ANC, or a decent mic, this isn't your headphone. Go grab the Sony ULT WEAR or the Technics EAH-A800 instead. The HD 620S is for people who sit down, plug in, and actually listen.
Verdict
Buy the HD 620S if you want reference-grade sound without disturbing everyone around you. It's not a gaming headset, it's not a travel headset, and it's definitely not a call headset. It's a music headphone for people who care about how things actually sound. And at the lower end of that price range, it's one of the best deals in audio right now.
