Dell S2425HS 24" Silver 2024

The Dell S2425HS is the office monitor that gets everything right for the price. Fully adjustable stand, 100Hz smoothness, and speakers that don't suck. Just don't expect gaming performance or HDR brightness.

The 100Hz refresh rate is the quiet hero here. Scrolling through documents and web pages feels noticeably smoother than a standard 60Hz panel, and it's a nice bonus for casual gaming. The 8ms response time isn't going to impress esports players, but for everyday use it's perfectly fine. Color accuracy is solid at 99% sRGB, though the 250 nits brightness means this monitor prefers a room without direct sunlight blasting onto it. The built-in 5W speakers genuinely surprised us. They're not going to replace a soundbar, but they're clear and loud enough for video calls and YouTube without reaching for headphones.

The LG UltraGear 27G810A-B and ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQDMGR are gaming monitors with much higher refresh rates and faster response times, but they cost significantly more and lack the ergonomic stand flexibility of the Dell. The Acer Nitro XV272U W2bmiiprx offers a higher resolution 1440p panel, but again, you're paying more and getting a less adjustable stand. For pure office work and everyday use, the Dell S2425HS beats all of them on value. If you need gaming performance, skip the Dell and grab the LG or ASUS. If you need a monitor for work, the Dell is the smarter buy.

At $134 to $144 USD, this monitor is an absolute steal. You're getting a fully adjustable stand, 100Hz refresh rate, decent speakers, and solid color coverage for less than most budget monitors charge for a fixed stand and 60Hz. The European pricing at 229 to 250 EUR is less exciting, but still reasonable for what you get. If you're in the US, this is one of the best value office monitors we've seen.

The Dell S2425HS is a 24-inch 1080p office monitor that quietly nails the basics. It's not chasing gaming glory or color-critical perfection. It's built for people who want a sharp, comfortable screen with a stand that actually adjusts and speakers that don't sound like a tin can. At 100Hz, it's smoother than your typical 60Hz office panel, and the 99% sRGB coverage keeps photos and videos looking lively. The real story here is the stand. Height, tilt, swivel, pivot. That's rare at this price, and it makes a bigger daily difference than any spec sheet will tell you.

If you're a gamer looking for high refresh rates and fast response times, this isn't your monitor. Go grab the LG UltraGear 27G810A-B or ASUS ROG Strix XG27AQDMGR instead. And if you work in a bright room with lots of windows, the 250 nits brightness will leave you squinting. Look for something with 350 nits or more.

The Dell S2425HS is the monitor we'd recommend to almost anyone who needs a reliable, comfortable screen for work or school. The fully adjustable stand alone is worth the price, and the 100Hz refresh rate plus surprisingly good speakers push it over the top. It's not a gaming monitor, and it's not bright enough for a sun-drenched office, but for the vast majority of people sitting at a desk all day, this is the one to get.
