Samsung E1SAMUN32H5000F 31.5"

★★★★☆ 4.2 (95)

The 31.5-inch Full HD display with Clear Motion Rate 120 reduces blur in fast content, while DTS Premium Sound and Dolby Digital Plus provide capable built-in audio. The bundled protection plan and included HDMI cable add practical value for a budget-focused purchase. This TV is best for dorm rooms or kitchens where a compact, affordable smart screen handles casual streaming and light gaming.

Snapshot

The 30-Second Version

A 32-inch Samsung that's fine for casual viewing but overpriced for what you get. Buy it for the Tizen interface, not the picture quality.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Samsung Tizen interface is still one of the better smart TV platforms 66th
  • Samsung Knox security is genuinely useful for peace of mind
  • Lightweight at under 4kg, easy to wall mount or move around
  • Samsung TV Plus gives you 2,700+ free channels out of the box

Cons

  • HD resolution on a 31.5-inch screen feels dated in 2025
  • 60Hz refresh rate kills any serious gaming ambitions
  • HDR support is basically marketing fluff at this tier
  • Only 2 HDMI ports, one of which you'll likely burn on a soundbar

What owners think

The Word on the Street

4.2/5 (95 reviews)
👍 Owners like the compact size and find it perfect for bedrooms or small apartments.
🤔 Several buyers mention the picture is decent for the price but nothing spectacular.
👎 A common gripe is the lack of 4K, with some feeling misled by the HDR marketing.

The proof

Performance

The picture quality sits in the middle of the pack, which is about what you'd expect from a budget HD panel. HDR support is there on paper, but at 35th percentile, it's more of a checkbox than a feature. The audio is underwhelming too, landing in the bottom half of our database. What surprised us most is how weak the smart features rank, 6th percentile is rough for a Samsung, especially since Tizen is usually a strength. The connectivity is fine with 2 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports, but nothing to write home about.

vs Competition

The TCL QM6K and Hisense QD7 are in a completely different league, with 4K resolution, better HDR, and gaming features that actually matter. Even the Roku Plus Series offers a better value proposition with its simpler interface and stronger picture quality. The Sony BRAVIA 3 II and LG QNED also outclass this Samsung in every meaningful way. The only scenario where this Samsung wins is if you're dead set on a 32-inch form factor and want Samsung's Tizen OS, which is genuinely nicer to use than most budget smart platforms.

Price

Value & Pricing

At $198, this is a tough sell. You can find 43-inch 4K TVs from TCL or Hisense for not much more, and those will blow this thing out of the water on picture quality and gaming. The only reason to buy this is if you specifically need a 32-inch screen and want the Samsung ecosystem. Otherwise, save your money or spend slightly more for a real upgrade.

Overview

This is a 32-inch Samsung that gets the basics right and not much else. At $198, you're paying for the Samsung name, a decent smart platform, and a screen that's fine for a bedroom or kitchen. The HD resolution on a 31.5-inch panel is acceptable at this size, but the 60Hz refresh rate and weak gaming chops mean this is strictly a casual viewing TV.

Common Questions

Q: Is this TV good for gaming?

Not really. The 60Hz refresh rate and 17th percentile gaming score mean you'll get noticeable motion blur and input lag. If you're on a PS5 or Xbox Series X, get a 120Hz TV instead.

Q: Does the HDR actually make a difference?

Barely. At 35th percentile for HDR, this panel doesn't get bright enough to show real HDR highlights. It'll accept an HDR signal, but you won't see the dramatic contrast the marketing promises.

Q: Is 32 inches big enough for a living room?

Only if you sit really close. For a living room, you want at least 43 inches, ideally 55. This size works best as a bedroom, kitchen, or office TV where you're within 6 feet of the screen.

Who Should Skip This

If you want 4K, real HDR, or any kind of gaming performance, this isn't it. Go get a TCL QM6K or Hisense QD7 instead, you'll get a bigger screen and dramatically better picture quality for not much more money. This Samsung only makes sense if you're locked into a 32-inch space and want the Tizen interface.

Verdict

Skip it unless you specifically need a 32-inch Samsung. The Tizen interface and Knox security are nice, but the HD resolution, weak HDR, and poor gaming performance make this feel like a TV from 2018. For $198, you're paying a Samsung tax without getting Samsung's best tech.
