Intel Core i9 X-Series 9940X 14-core LGA2066
The 14-core, 28-thread design with a 4.4GHz boost clock and quad-channel DDR4 memory delivers strong parallel throughput for heavily threaded workloads. Its unlocked multiplier on the LGA 2066 socket provides headroom for tuning, though the 165W TDP and Skylake-X architecture show their age in single-thread efficiency. This processor is best for workstation users running multi-core productivity tasks like CPU-based rendering who already own an X299 motherboard.
