Intel Core i7 X-Series 7800X 6-core LGA2066
The 6-core, 12-thread Skylake-X architecture on the LGA 2066 socket provides 28 PCI Express lanes and Intel Optane Memory readiness, making it a capable platform for high-bandwidth storage and multi-GPU setups. Its positioning on the X299 chipset offers quad-channel DDR4 memory support, which was a differentiator for memory-intensive tasks at its release. This processor is best for budget-conscious system builders seeking a used entry point into the HEDT platform for older rendering workstations or multi-card configurations, not modern gaming or AI workloads.
