Why we recommend this ▼

A redesigned HLA autofocus motor and a 7% smaller, 10% lighter body than its predecessor make this a fast-handling f/2.8 standard zoom. Its 6.7-inch minimum focusing distance delivers a strong 1:2.7 magnification ratio, offering near-macro versatility uncommon in this class. This lens is best for hybrid shooters needing a single, weather-sealed tool that excels at both detailed close-ups and general landscape work.
