A multitasking monster with a misleading gaming label. Buy it for the CPU, not the GPU, and only if you find it for under $600.

The CPU is the star of the show. That Ryzen 7 chip is a multitasking beast, chewing through browser tabs, office apps, and even some light content creation without breaking a sweat. It sits well above average in our database, and it feels like it. The real surprise, though, is the graphics situation. The marketing flirts with calling this a 'discrete' GPU, but it's the integrated Radeon 680M. It's one of the best integrated GPUs out there, but it's still an iGPU. You can play GTA V at 30FPS if you tweak settings, but don't expect a smooth 4K gaming experience on modern titles. The 16GB of DDR5 RAM is solid, but the 512GB SSD is just middle-of-the-pack and will fill up fast if you're installing big games.

Stacked against a Lenovo Legion 5i, the MALLRACE gets absolutely smoked in gaming performance because the Legion packs a real discrete GPU. The Legion is the clear winner if frame rates matter. Compared to an ASUS ProArt PX13, the MALLRACE's screen and build quality feel cheap, but it also costs a fraction of the price. The real competitor here is a used business laptop like a ThinkPad. You'd get legendary reliability and build quality, but you'd sacrifice that newer, faster Ryzen 7 CPU. It's a trade-off between raw processing power and everything else.

Value here is a moving target. We've seen this listed from a reasonable $557 all the way up to a laughable $132,051. At the low end, you're getting a fantastic CPU and a good screen for not much money. At anything over $600, you're in a danger zone where a used Lenovo Legion or a new ASUS with a real dedicated GPU starts to make a lot more sense. If you're buying, hunt down that sub-$600 price on Amazon and don't pay a penny more.

The MALLRACE RX16 is a budget gaming laptop that makes one big promise: desktop-class multitasking power in a portable package, thanks to that 8-core Ryzen 7 7735HS. And for everyday work and school, it actually delivers a surprisingly smooth experience. But calling this a true 'gaming laptop' is a stretch. The integrated Radeon 680M graphics are fine for lighter titles, but you'll be turning settings way down for anything demanding. The real story here is the price, which is all over the map depending on the seller, so you absolutely need to shop smart.

If you're looking for a machine that can play the latest games at high settings, this isn't it. Go get a Lenovo Legion 5i with a proper RTX 4060 instead. You'll pay more, but you'll actually get the gaming experience you're after without the frustration.

The MALLRACE RX16 is a wolf in sheep's clothing, but not in the way you'd hope. It's a powerful productivity machine disguised as a gaming laptop. If you need a cheap laptop for school, coding, or heavy multitasking and you'll only play light games on the side, it's a solid buy at the right price. But if your main goal is gaming, this isn't it. Save up a bit more and get something with a real dedicated GPU. You'll be much happier.
