The Core Ultra 5 125H with 32GB of LPDDR5X at 7500MHz handles everyday work and light creative tasks without breaking a sweat. Our database puts the CPU and storage in the solid middle of the pack, but the RAM is a standout, one of the best on the market right now. The integrated Arc graphics are fine for video encoding and casual use, but gaming lands at a rough 19.6 out of 100. Don't expect much beyond older titles at low settings. The IceBlade 2.0 cooling keeps things quiet under normal loads, which is nice for a laptop this thin.

Against the Apple MacBook Pro M4 Pro, the GEEKOM loses on performance, build quality, and resale value, but it's also a fraction of the price. The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 is a better choice if you want any gaming capability at all, though it's heavier and pricier. The Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro offers a similar thin-and-light experience with better port selection and a more established track record. If you want a big screen and long battery life without spending MacBook money, the GEEKOM is worth a look. But if you need reliable performance for years, go with the Samsung or Apple.

The best deal we found is on Amazon, where it's listed at the low end. If you're paying anything over $1,200 for this, you're getting ripped off. The 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD are generous at the entry price, but the thin port selection and unknown long-term reliability make it a risky buy at anything higher.

The GEEKOM GeekBook X16 Pro is a featherweight 16-inch laptop that gets the fundamentals right. You get a gorgeous 2.5K 120Hz display, 32GB of fast RAM, and a big 77Wh battery in a 1.27kg magnesium body. That combo is rare at this price point. But GEEKOM is a mini PC company first, and it shows in the details. Port selection is thin, reliability data is basically nonexistent, and the gaming performance is a non-starter.

If you're looking for a gaming laptop, this isn't it. Go get an ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 or a Lenovo Legion Pro instead. If you need a laptop with lots of ports for peripherals, skip this too. The two USB-A and two USB-C ports are limiting. And if you're the type who keeps a laptop for five-plus years, the lack of reliability data on GEEKOM laptops should scare you off. Get a MacBook Pro or a Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro for peace of mind.
