Ce 100 mm f/2,8 se distingue par sa conception optique mise à jour avec un verre ED et son indice de protection AW (All Weather) entièrement étanche, une rareté pour un objectif macro. Sa construction légère de 348 g et sa distance minimale de mise au point de 13 cm offrent un rapport de reproduction 1:1 avec un diaphragme circulaire à 8 lamelles pour un bokeh naturel.
