Lenovo ThinkPad 14" P14s Gen 6 Black 2026

The ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 packs 64GB of RAM and a stunning 2.8K OLED screen into a 1.39kg chassis. Battery life is the weak link, and the integrated GPU limits gaming. Worth it only if you need that RAM and screen in a portable Windows workstation.

The Ryzen AI 7 PRO 350 sits in the 74th percentile for CPUs, which is solid but not earth-shattering. It'll chew through spreadsheets, code compiles, and a dozen browser tabs without breaking a sweat. The 64GB of DDR5 is the real star here, landing in the 98th percentile. That's more RAM than most desktops, and it shows when you're running VMs or heavy data work. The Radeon 860M integrated GPU is fine for everyday tasks and light photo editing, but don't expect to play anything beyond indie titles. Storage is a 1TB SSD at the 68th percentile, perfectly adequate. The OLED display is the other highlight, 2880x1800 at 120Hz with 500 nits and full DCI-P3 coverage. It's one of the best screens we've seen on a business laptop.

Against the MacBook Pro M4 Max, the ThinkPad loses on battery life, raw performance, and GPU power. The MacBook is in a different league for creative work. The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 and HP OMEN Transcend 14 both offer discrete GPUs for gaming and creative tasks, though they're heavier and less business-focused. The MSI Prestige and Microsoft Surface Laptop 7th Edition are closer competitors in the thin-and-light productivity space, but neither offers 64GB of RAM or this level of port selection. The ThinkPad's real advantage is that RAM and the OLED screen, plus the legendary keyboard and build quality. If those matter more than battery life or GPU muscle, it's a contender.

At $3,799 USD, this is a tough sell. You're paying a premium for the ThinkPad name, the OLED panel, and that massive 64GB of RAM. But the battery is small, the GPU is integrated, and the CPU is good but not great. For the same money, you could get a MacBook Pro with far better battery life and a much faster chip, or a gaming laptop with a real GPU. If you need 64GB of RAM in a portable workstation and you're married to Windows, this makes sense. Otherwise, it's hard to justify the price.

The ThinkPad P14s Gen 6 is a weird mix. You get a gorgeous 2.8K OLED touchscreen, 64GB of RAM, and a Ryzen AI 7 PRO chip in a 1.39kg chassis. That's a serious spec sheet for a 14-inch business machine. But then you look at the battery, a 52Wh unit, and you wonder who greenlit that pairing.

Lenovo clearly aimed this at professionals who want workstation-ish muscle without the bulk. And on paper, it nails that. The RAM is top of the charts, the screen is stunning, and the port selection is excellent. But the battery life is a real buzzkill, and the integrated Radeon 860M means this is no gaming rig. It's a work laptop through and through.

Skip this if you need all-day battery life. The 52Wh cell is simply too small for this hardware, and you'll be hunting for outlets by mid-afternoon. Also skip it if you do any GPU-heavy work like video editing, 3D rendering, or gaming. The integrated Radeon 860M just can't keep up, and for $3,799 you can get a machine with a real discrete GPU. And if you're on a budget, this is not the laptop for you.

Buy this if you're a business professional or developer who needs a portable Windows machine with tons of RAM, a gorgeous screen, and excellent build quality. The 64GB of DDR5 and OLED panel are the standout features. But if you need all-day battery life or any kind of GPU acceleration, look elsewhere. This is a niche machine for a specific kind of buyer, and it nails that niche, but it's not for everyone.
