Why we recommend this ▼
The updated optical design and VXD linear motor deliver sharper resolution and faster, quieter autofocus than its predecessor, all in a weather-sealed, 540g body. Its standout 1:2.7 magnification at a 7.1-inch minimum focus distance adds genuine close-up versatility rarely found in a constant f/2.8 standard zoom. This lens is best for hybrid shooters and portrait photographers who need a lightweight, do-it-all workhorse without the premium price of first-party glass.
Tamron Di III VC 28-300mm f/4-7.1 VXD 300mm
Why we recommend this ▼
Covering a 28-300mm range with 1:2.8 macro magnification in a 610g weather-sealed body, this lens eliminates the need for multiple optics in a single, portable package. Its VXD autofocus motor and built-in stabilization support sharp handheld shooting from wide landscapes to tight close-ups. This is best for travel photographers and hybrid shooters who prioritize an all-in-one zoom for full-frame Sony E-mount cameras over specialized fast-aperture glass.
