ASUS ROG G700 Black 2025
The Intel Core Ultra 9 285 processor with 24 cores and a 5.60 GHz turbo boost, paired with the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 8GB GDDR7 GPU and DLSS 4, delivers strong 1080p and 1440p gaming performance. The 32GB DDR5 5600 MHz RAM, 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD, and quad-fan cooling system with dust filters support extended sessions without thermal throttling. This desktop is best for gamers who want a pre-built ROG system with RGB lighting, Aura Sync, and a 2-year warranty, prioritizing performance over portability given its 18.32kg weight.

The Word on the Street
The proof
Performance
The Core Ultra 7 265KF sits at the 95th percentile for CPUs in our database, which is genuinely top-tier for gaming and heavy multitasking. The RTX 5070 lands at the 76th percentile, solid but not earth-shattering. What surprised us is the port selection, 99th percentile, which means you'll never run out of USB-A slots. The 2TB NVMe SSD is also well above average at the 92nd percentile. But the reliability score is rough, 36th percentile, which drags the whole package down.

vs Competition
The HP OMEN GT22-3080 and Lenovo Legion Tower 7i Gen 10 are the two competitors that matter here. The Legion typically offers better build quality and a cleaner upgrade path, while the OMEN often undercuts on price. The G700's port selection beats both, but the Legion's reliability track record is stronger. If you want the most ports and a beefy CPU, the G700 wins. If you want peace of mind, the Legion is the safer bet.

Price
Value & Pricing
Without a confirmed price, it's hard to call this a slam dunk. But if you can find the RTX 5070 config for under $1,800, it's a strong deal. The problem is the reliability score. A 36th percentile reliability rating means we'd hesitate to recommend this as a daily driver without a solid warranty. The 2-year warranty helps, but it's not enough to erase the concern.

Overview
The ASUS ROG G700 is a confusing spec sheet wrapped in a pretty RGB case. Depending on which configuration you grab, you're getting anywhere from an RTX 5060 to an RTX 5070, and from 16GB to 64GB of RAM. The version we're looking at here pairs a Core Ultra 7 265KF with an RTX 5070 and 32GB of DDR5, which sounds great on paper. But the retail listings are a mess, and the reliability score in our database is a red flag.
Common Questions
Q: Which GPU does this config actually have?
The listing is a mess. The specs mention both an RTX 5070 and an RTX 5060. Based on the highlights, the RTX 5060 8GB is the more likely config for most listings. Double-check the exact SKU before you buy.
Q: Is the air cooler enough for the Core Ultra 7?
For gaming, yes. The Core Ultra 7 265KF runs efficiently, and the quad fan system helps. But if you plan on heavy sustained workloads, a liquid cooler config would be the better pick.
Q: Can I upgrade the storage later?
Yes. The 2TB NVMe SSD is already solid, but the motherboard supports PCIe 5 upgrades. Plenty of room to add more storage down the line.
Who Should Skip This
If you're looking for a compact or quiet office PC, this isn't it. The G700 is a 18.32kg tower with RGB lighting and a gaming focus. Go grab a Mac Studio or a small form factor PC instead. And if reliability is your top priority, the Lenovo Legion Tower 7i is the better call.
Verdict
The ASUS ROG G700 is a powerful gaming PC with a fantastic CPU and more USB ports than you'll ever need. But the reliability score in our database is a real concern, and the confusing retail listings don't inspire confidence. If you can snag the RTX 5070 config at a good price and you're okay with a little risk, it's a solid buy. Otherwise, the Legion Tower 7i is the safer choice.
