Veout V1 Pro V1 16" 2025

The Veout V1 Pro is a lightweight 16-inch portable monitor with a sharp 2.5K 144Hz display that's perfect for work on the go. The stand is a bit wobbly and the speakers are weak, but the image quality and portability are top-notch for the price. If you need a second screen for your laptop and can snag it around $120, it's a no-brainer.

The 2560x1600 resolution at 144Hz is the star here. Text looks crisp at 188 PPI, and the high refresh rate makes scrolling and window dragging feel buttery smooth. FreeSync support is a nice touch for casual gaming, keeping things tear-free when you're sneaking in a round of Rocket League on your lunch break. The 1ms response time keeps motion clear, though the 300-nit brightness means you'll be squinting if you're working outside in direct sun. Color accuracy is solid with 100% sRGB coverage, landing in the 67th percentile, which is perfectly fine for office work and web browsing but not enough for serious photo editing. The single-leg kickstand is a weak point, it works, but it wobbles more than we'd like on anything but a flat, hard surface.

Stacked against desktop monitors like the ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQL5A or the LG UltraGear 27GX790A-B, the Veout is playing a different game entirely. Those are big, bright, high-performance gaming displays meant to live on a desk. The V1 Pro is a travel companion. It's not going to beat them on HDR impact or sheer size, but it will fit in your backpack, which they absolutely will not. Against other portable monitors, the Veout's 144Hz panel gives it a leg up for gaming on the go, while the Dell S2725QC is a sharper 4K office panel that's stuck on your desk. If portability is your top priority, the Veout wins by default.

Pricing on this one is all over the map, with a spread from $120 to over $20,000 across vendors, which is frankly absurd. The real-world price you should be looking for is at the low end of that range. At around $120, the V1 Pro is a steal for a 144Hz 2.5K portable panel. It undercuts many competitors with similar specs and delivers where it counts for productivity. If you see it listed for anything close to four figures, close the tab immediately, someone's lost their mind. For the sub-$150 price point, the value is excellent.

The Veout V1 Pro is a 16-inch portable monitor that nails the basics for work and travel. It's got a sharp 2560x1600 display, a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, and it weighs just 717 grams. You can toss it in a backpack and forget it's there until you need a second screen at a coffee shop or a hotel room. The built-in stand is clever, letting you prop it up without attaching anything to your laptop, though it's not the most stable thing in the world. For the price, it's a solid grab-and-go display that covers the essentials well.

But it's not a do-everything panel. The 300-nit brightness and 8-bit color are fine for spreadsheets and coding, but this isn't the screen you want for movie night. The built-in speakers are there if you're desperate, but they won't fill a room. If you need a portable monitor that's a workhorse first and a gaming sidekick second, the V1 Pro fits the bill. Just don't expect it to replace your main display for color-critical work or immersive entertainment.

If you need a monitor for color-accurate photo or video editing, look elsewhere. The 8-bit panel and lack of wider color gamut coverage won't cut it for professional creative work. Also, if you plan to use the built-in speakers for anything more than system dings, you'll be disappointed, grab a pair of headphones instead.

The Veout V1 Pro is a fantastic portable monitor for anyone who needs more screen real estate on the move. It's ideal for remote workers, students, and coders who want a sharp, responsive second display that won't weigh them down. The high refresh rate is a genuine bonus that makes everything feel more responsive, even if you're just scrolling through documents. It's not a home theater replacement, and the flimsy stand is a daily annoyance, but the core experience is strong. If you find it at a reasonable price, it's an easy recommendation for a travel work setup.
