SteelSeries Arctis Nova 61758

The Arctis Nova 7X Wireless Gen 2 is a gaming headset with a top tier mic and 50 hour battery life. Sound quality is average and build feels a bit cheap, but the wireless flexibility and game presets make it a strong buy for multi platform gamers. At $170, it's worth it if gaming is your priority.

The mic is the star here. It lands in the 92nd percentile in our database, which means your squad will hear you clearly even with a mechanical keyboard clacking away. Battery life is also a standout at 88th percentile, with 50 hours of playtime and a quick charge that gives you 6 hours from 15 minutes. Connectivity is strong too, with the 2.4GHz dongle and Bluetooth multipoint working smoothly across Xbox, PC, PS5, Switch, and mobile. Sound quality is just average though, sitting at the 54th percentile. The neodymium drivers are fine for gaming, but they won't blow you away for music. The ANC is decent at 68th percentile, but this is more about passive isolation than true active noise cancellation.

Compared to the Sennheiser MOMENTUM M5AEBT or Sony ULT WEAR, the Arctis Nova 7X Gen 2 is clearly a gaming headset first. The Sennheiser and Sony will sound better for music and feel more premium in hand, but they can't match the SteelSeries mic or the simultaneous 2.4GHz plus Bluetooth trick. The JBL Tune 670NC and TOZO HT3 are cheaper, but they lack the gaming specific features and cross platform flexibility. If you're on Xbox and want one headset for everything, the Nova 7X is the most practical choice here.

At $170 USD, this headset is a solid deal for gamers who want wireless freedom and a great mic. The battery life alone is worth the price of admission if you hate charging your gear every night. But if you're looking for premium build quality or audiophile sound, you'll be disappointed. The 55 out of 100 total score in our database reflects that this is a gaming first headset, not an all rounder. For the right buyer, it's worth every penny. For everyone else, there are better options.

The SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7X Wireless Gen 2 is a gaming headset that nails the fundamentals. You get a 50 hour battery, a mic that actually cuts through background noise, and simultaneous 2.4GHz plus Bluetooth so you can hear your game and take a call at the same time. The companion app with 200 plus game presets is a nice touch, especially if you like tweaking EQ for footsteps in Call of Duty or Fortnite.

But it's not perfect. The sound quality is middle of the pack, and the build and comfort scores in our database are underwhelming for a headset at this price. It's a great wireless gaming tool, just don't expect it to double as a premium music listening experience.

Skip this if you care about music quality or premium build materials. The sound is average at best and the plastic construction feels less durable than competitors at this price. If you need strong active noise cancellation for travel or office use, look at the Sony ULT WEAR or Sennheiser MOMENTUM instead. And if you're on a tight budget, the TOZO HT3 gets you decent wireless audio for much less.

Buy this if you're a gamer who plays on multiple platforms and wants a reliable wireless headset with a killer mic and marathon battery life. The Arctis Nova 7X Wireless Gen 2 is a workhorse, not a showpiece. It's perfect for long Discord sessions, competitive play, and anyone who hates being tethered to a cable. Just don't expect it to replace your dedicated music headphones.
