The gaming performance on this thing is a genuine shocker, in the best way. It landed in the 99th percentile in our database, which is basically the top of the charts. The 0.1ms response time and 120Hz panel with G-Sync and FreeSync support make motion incredibly clear. But then you look at the picture quality score, sitting at a disappointing 36th percentile, and it's a real letdown. The α8 AI Processor just doesn't seem to be doing the heavy lifting needed for clean upscaling and accurate colors compared to other OLEDs, which is a head-scratcher at this size and price.

The obvious competitor is the Sony BRAVIA XR XR77A95L. It's more expensive, but Sony's processing will absolutely smoke the LG B6 in picture quality for movies and TV shows. The Sony is the choice for cinephiles. On the flip side, if you want to save a ton of cash and still get great gaming, the TCL QM7K Series gets you most of the way there with a much better picture score in our tests, just without the perfect blacks of OLED. The LG B6 sits in a weird middle ground where it's not the best picture and not the best value.

Pricing is all over the map, with a spread from $2225 to $3865. At the low end, you're getting a massive OLED gaming monitor that's hard to beat for pure speed. At the high end, you're getting fleeced. If you can snag it closer to that $2225 mark, it's a compelling, if flawed, giant screen. Just don't pay a premium for it.
