Performance
The Core Ultra 7 256V surprised us. It's not going to win any rendering contests, but for everyday multitasking, document crunching, and those AI features Dell keeps shouting about, it's snappy. The integrated Arc Graphics with 16GB of shared VRAM is a weird flex, but it handles light photo editing and video calls without breaking a sweat. The 1TB NVMe SSD is a nice touch at this price, and the whole thing stays cool and quiet, which we appreciate more than a few extra benchmark points.

vs Competition
The MacBook Pro M4 Pro absolutely destroys this in performance and screen quality, but it costs way more. The ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 is the obvious pick if you want any gaming chops, and the HP OMEN Transcend 14 offers better port selection and a faster display for similar money. The Dell's real competition is the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i, which trades portability for raw power. For pure productivity on a budget, the Dell holds its own, but it's not the best at anything except being light and quiet.

Value & Pricing
At $1,179 USD, this is a solid deal for a Copilot+ laptop with a 1TB SSD and that 2.5K screen. You're not overpaying for the AI hype, but you're also not getting a bargain. If you need a reliable daily driver for work or school, the price is fair. If you want to game or do heavy creative work, save your money.

Overview
The Dell 14 Plus is a productivity laptop that knows exactly what it is, and mostly nails it. You get Intel's new Core Ultra 7 256V, 16GB of LPDDR5X, and a 1TB SSD in a 1.55kg aluminum shell. It's built for the Copilot+ crowd who want AI tricks without melting their lap. The 14-inch 2.5K display is the headline feature here, even if the VA panel holds it back a bit.
Common Questions
Q: Can this laptop handle gaming?
No. The integrated Arc Graphics are fine for light tasks, but gaming scores put this in the bottom 20% of laptops we track. If you want to play anything modern, get a Zephyrus G14 or Legion instead.
Q: Is the display good for photo editing?
The 2.5K resolution and 100% sRGB coverage are great for color work, but the VA panel means colors shift when you're not looking straight on. For casual editing it's fine, but serious photographers should look at an IPS or OLED panel.
Q: How's the battery life?
Dell claims all-day battery, and the Core Ultra 7 256V is designed for efficiency. We don't have exact numbers, but the low-power chip and 300-nit display suggest you'll get through a workday without hunting for an outlet.
Who Should Skip This
If you're looking for a gaming laptop or a machine for heavy video editing, this isn't it. Go grab an ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 or a MacBook Pro M4 Pro instead. You'll pay more, but you'll actually get the performance you need.
Verdict
Buy the Dell 14 Plus if you want a lightweight, quiet Copilot+ laptop for work, school, or general productivity. The 2.5K display and 1TB SSD are the real stars here. Just don't expect to game on it, and bring a dongle for your peripherals.
