Die Fakten
Performance
Speed lands in the 95th percentile in our database, which puts this kit among the absolute best right now. The 6400 MT/s clock is the headline, but the CL42 timings are more middle of the pack. That's the trade-off. You get massive bandwidth for CAD, rendering, and heavy multitasking, but latency-sensitive gaming won't see the same tight response as a lower-clocked kit with better timings. Still, users report significant gains in demanding apps, and XMP setup is mostly painless.

vs Competition
The Kingston FURY Beast KF564C32BWEAK2-64 is the main rival here. It runs at 6000 MT/s but with CL32 timings, so it's a better pick for latency-sensitive gaming. The G.Skill Trident Z5 Royal is the flashy option with RGB and similar capacity, but you'll pay for the looks. For pure workstation throughput, this Corsair kit wins on raw speed. For gaming, the Kingston is the smarter buy.

Value & Pricing
At $910 USD, this isn't cheap, but DDR5 prices have dropped enough that 64GB at this speed is actually reasonable for what you get. If you need the capacity and the bandwidth, it's worth it. If you're just gaming, you can spend less and get tighter timings elsewhere.

Overview
The Corsair Vengeance CMK64GX5M2B6400C42 is a 64GB DDR5 kit that sits near the top of the speed charts. It's a 2x32GB setup running at 6400 MT/s, and while the CL42 latency isn't the tightest we've seen, the raw bandwidth is what you're here for. This is the kit you grab when you're done messing around with 16GB and want headroom for serious work and gaming without thinking about it again.
Common Questions
Q: Is this RAM good for gaming?
It's fine, but not the best choice. The 6400 MT/s speed is great, but CL42 latency means you'll leave a little performance on the table compared to a 6000 MT/s CL32 kit. If you're mostly gaming, save some cash and get tighter timings.
Q: Will XMP work out of the box?
On most Intel boards, yes. Flip on XMP 3.0 in the BIOS and you're at 6400 MT/s. Some users report needing manual tweaks on certain systems, so don't panic if you have to poke around a bit.
Q: Does this have RGB?
No, and that's a feature. The Vengeance line is low-profile with no lights, which is perfect if you want performance without the circus.
Who Should Skip This
If you're building a pure gaming rig, skip this. The CL42 latency holds it back in frame-time-sensitive titles. Go grab the Kingston FURY Beast with CL32 timings instead and pocket the difference.
Verdict
This is a workstation memory kit first and a gaming kit second. The 6400 MT/s speed and 64GB capacity make it a no-brainer for CAD, rendering, and heavy multitasking. If you're building a serious Intel rig and want memory you won't have to think about for years, buy it. If you're chasing gaming frame rates, look for tighter timings instead.
