Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Fold8 Graphite 256GB

The Fold8 is a big-screen beauty with a mediocre camera. Get it for the foldable display, not the photos.

The 8-core 4.74GHz chip and 12GB of RAM keep things snappy, but the performance percentile sits at a middling 43rd, which surprised us given the spec sheet. The 4800mAh battery lands at the 80th percentile, so you'll get through a full day of mixed use, and 45W wired charging tops you up fast. The real weak spot is photography. The 50MP main camera sounds fine on paper, but a 40.5/100 score puts it behind most flagships in our database. If you're buying this for the camera, you're buying the wrong phone.

Against the Motorola Razr Ultra 2025, the Fold8 wins on screen size and battery, but the Razr is likely cheaper and more pocketable. The Google Pixel 10 Pro will absolutely crush the Fold8 on camera quality, and the OnePlus 15 probably beats it on raw performance per dollar. If you want the big folding screen, the Fold8 is the pick. If you want a great camera or max performance, look elsewhere.

Pricing is all over the place in Canada, ranging from CAD 1,820 to CAD 2,400 across five listings. That's a CAD 580 spread for the same phone, so shop around. The best deal in our data comes from the lower end of that range, and at CAD 1,820 it's a much easier sell than at CAD 2,400. At the high end, you're paying flagship money for a phone with a mid-tier camera.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 is Samsung betting hard that a bigger canvas still wins. Unfolded, you get a 7.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED at 120Hz that makes games, books, and video feel genuinely immersive. Folded, it's a surprisingly light 200g phone that handles everyday texting without feeling like a brick. The one thing to know? This is a content consumption machine first, and a camera phone second.

If you're looking for a top-tier camera or the fastest performance per dollar, this isn't it. Go get a Pixel 10 Pro for photos or a OnePlus 15 for speed. The Fold8 is for people who want the big folding screen above all else.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 is a great foldable for people who want a big, beautiful screen in a light package. Battery life is solid, the display is lovely, and the form factor is genuinely fun. But the camera is mediocre, and the performance is just average for the price. Buy it for the screen, not the photography.
