Факти
Performance
The planar magnetic drivers are the real deal. In our database, the mic quality sits at the 97th percentile, which is best-in-class for gaming headsets. Your squad will hear you crystal clear thanks to the AI noise rejection, and the retractable boom mic is a nice touch. What surprised us most was the wireless performance. The PlayStation Link connection is genuinely lossless and lag-free. We couldn't detect any perceptible delay, which is critical for competitive shooters. The 30-hour battery is well above average too. The weak spot is music playback, where it sounds a bit thin and clinical compared to dedicated music headphones, landing in a mediocre 55th percentile for sound quality overall.

vs Competition
The Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 is the obvious rival if you want a headset that excels at both gaming and music. It has far superior sound quality for tunes and a more premium build, but its mic isn't as good and it lacks the seamless PS5 integration. The Apple AirPods Max are in a different league for build and noise cancellation, but they're twice the price and don't play as nicely with PlayStation. For pure PS5 gaming, the PULSE Elite's combination of planar magnetic drivers and PlayStation Link makes it a more focused, and often cheaper, choice than either.

Value & Pricing
Pricing is all over the place, ranging from $149 to $317 across vendors. At the low end, this headset is a steal for PS5 owners. At the high end, you're getting into premium territory where the build quality doesn't hold up. If you can snag it closer to $150, it's a no-brainer. Best Buy currently has the most competitive price we've seen.

Overview
The Sony PULSE Elite is the gaming headset to beat if you own a PS5. Sony finally put planar magnetic drivers in a wireless headset that doesn't cost a fortune, and the result is genuinely impressive spatial detail. You'll hear footsteps and environmental cues in 3D audio games with a clarity that most gaming headsets in this price range simply can't match. It's not an audiophile music headset, and the build quality has some corners cut, but for pure gaming immersion on PlayStation, this thing delivers.
Common Questions
Q: Can I connect this to my phone and PS5 at the same time?
Yes, you can. It supports dual device connectivity, so you can listen to game audio via PlayStation Link while taking a call or playing music from your phone over Bluetooth simultaneously.
Q: Does the microphone actually cancel background noise?
Absolutely. The AI-enhanced noise rejection is one of the best we've tested. It does a great job of filtering out keyboard clicks and room chatter so your voice comes through clean.
Q: Is the charging hanger the only way to charge it?
No, you can also charge it via the USB-C port. The included wall-mounted hanger is just a convenient dock, but you can plug it in directly if you prefer.
Who Should Skip This
If you're looking for a premium all-rounder that feels luxurious and sounds amazing with music, this isn't it. Go get the Sennheiser MOMENTUM 4 instead. The PULSE Elite is a focused gaming tool built for PlayStation, and it shows in its plasticky build and weak music performance.
Verdict
Buy the Sony PULSE Elite if you primarily game on a PS5 and want the best wireless audio integration Sony offers. The planar magnetic drivers and lossless connection create a genuinely competitive advantage in games that support 3D audio. Just don't expect it to replace your music headphones, and be gentle with those hinges. For the price it often sells for, it's an easy recommendation for PlayStation loyalists.
