vs Competition
Against the iPad Pro M5, the Tab S9 loses on raw processing power and app selection, but it wins on value and the included S Pen. The Lenovo Yoga Tab Plus is a solid alternative with a bigger battery, but its screen doesn't match the Samsung's AMOLED quality. The Xiaomi Pad 7 undercuts it on price, but you're giving up the IP68 rating and the polish of Samsung's software. If you want the best Android tablet experience without paying Ultra prices, this is the one.

Overview
The Galaxy Tab S9 is Samsung's best non-ultra tablet, and honestly, it's still one of the best Android slates you can buy in 2025. The screen is the star here. An 11-inch AMOLED at 120Hz with 750 nits of brightness puts it in the top tier of any tablet display we've tested. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is no slouch either, and the included S Pen makes this a genuinely useful tool for artists and note-takers, not just a couch streaming device.
Common Questions
Q: Does the S Pen come in the box?
Yes, the S Pen is included with the Tab S9. No extra purchase needed, unlike the iPad where you pay another hundred bucks for the Apple Pencil.
Q: Can I expand the storage?
Yep, there's a microSD card slot. The 128GB base model fills up quick with games and movies, so grab a card and you're set.
Q: Is this good for drawing and art?
Absolutely. The AMOLED screen is color-accurate and the S Pen has low latency. It's not quite iPad Pro level for pro artists, but it's close enough for most people.
Who Should Skip This
If you're a professional video editor or 3D artist who needs the absolute best app selection, this isn't it. Go get an iPad Pro instead. And if you're just looking for a cheap streaming screen, the Xiaomi Pad 7 will save you money and do the job fine.
Verdict
The Galaxy Tab S9 is the Android tablet to beat for most people. It nails the fundamentals: incredible screen, fast processor, long battery life, and a stylus that actually works well. The 128GB storage is the main compromise, but with expandable storage via microSD, that's an easy fix. If you're not locked into Apple's apps and services, this is the tablet to get.
