AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 8-core AM4
The 7nm Zen 3 architecture and 32MB of L3 cache deliver strong PassMark scores, while the unlocked 65W TDP provides efficient multi-threaded performance on the mature AM4 platform. Its lack of integrated graphics keeps the platform cost low, making it a straightforward drop-in upgrade for existing DDR4 systems. This processor is best for budget-conscious PC builders seeking high core counts for productivity workloads and 1080p gaming without needing a new motherboard.

Buyers upgrading from older Ryzen chips report solid performance gains, better temps, and good value, especially on sale. One used unit arrived with bent pins and thermal paste on pins, prompting a warning to buy new.
- Performance upgrade from older Ryzen (2700, 3600x, 3700x) is clear, with higher clocks, better 1% lows, and snappier system.
- Thermals improved vs 3700x, running 50-55°C under load, and more efficient architecture.
- Good value for budget builds, especially under $200; recommended for those avoiding new motherboard/RAM.
- One used unit arrived with bent pins and thermal paste on pins; advises buying new to avoid issues.
- Q1 202682/100
Buyers in Q1 2026 praised the CPU's performance and value for the AM4 platform, but noted concerns about packaging, warranty, and a rare DOA case.
- CPU performance is solid for 1080p gaming and a good upgrade, especially at the price.
- Packaging is minimal (small box in envelope), leading to potential damage like bent pins, though returns were fast.
- Warranty is only one year from seller, not AMD's three years, with possible restocking fees.
- One rare DOA with bent pins, but replacement was quick via New Egg.
