The 30-Second Version
A rugged tablet with a removable battery that's hamstrung by weak connectivity and a phone-grade chip. Buy it for field work, skip it for everything else.
Pros & Cons
Переваги
- Removable battery is genuinely rare and useful for field work 66th
- MIL-STD-810H rating means it can take a beating
- Android 16 out of the box is nice and current
- 45W adapter included, so charging won't be painfully slow
Недоліки
- Connectivity is dead last, 9th percentile, which is rough for a field tablet
- Snapdragon 7s is a mid-range phone chip, not tablet-grade silicon
- Feature set is nearly empty at the 7th percentile
- Screen quality is disappointing at the 29th percentile

Performance
The Snapdragon 7s sits at the 35th percentile for CPUs in our database, which is about what you'd expect from a budget-to-mid chip. It'll handle email, web browsing, and light document work fine, but don't expect it to chew through heavy multitasking or anything graphically intense. The GPU is even weaker at the 36th percentile, so gaming and creative work are going to feel sluggish. The 8GB of RAM is solid for this class, but the 128GB of storage is just average. What surprised me most is how much the connectivity score drags everything down. At the 9th percentile, it's one of the worst we've seen. For a tablet that's supposed to be a field device, that's a real problem.

vs Competition
Against the iPad Pro M5 or Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, the ThinkTab X11 gets absolutely smoked on performance, screen, and features. Those are flagship devices with desktop-class chips and gorgeous displays. The ThinkTab's only real advantage is the rugged build and removable battery, which neither of those offer. The Surface Pro 11 is a better comparison for business use, with a full Windows OS and far better connectivity. The Xiaomi Pad 7 is probably the closest Android competitor, and it likely offers better specs for less money. If you don't need the ruggedness, skip the ThinkTab entirely.

Value & Pricing
Hard to judge value without a solid price anchor, but at CAD 677 from one listing, this is a tough sell. You're paying ruggedized tablet money for what is essentially a mid-range Android tablet with a removable battery. If you don't need the MIL-STD rating or the swappable battery, there are far better tablets for less. If you do need those things, this might be your only option in this form factor, but you're paying a premium for it.
Докладніше
Overview
The Lenovo ThinkTab X11 Gen 1 is a weird one. It's got a removable battery and MIL-STD-810H ruggedness, which sounds great for field work, but then it pairs that with a Snapdragon 7s and 8GB of RAM. That's a mid-range phone chip in a tablet that wants to be a workhorse. The one thing to know: this is a niche device for specific enterprise or field deployments, not a general-purpose tablet you'd buy for fun.
Common Questions
Q: Can I use this for gaming?
Not really. The Snapdragon 7s and its GPU are both below average in our database. Casual games will run, but anything demanding will chug. Get a Galaxy Tab or iPad if gaming matters.
Q: Is the removable battery actually useful?
Yes, if you're in the field all day without access to power. You can carry spares and swap them in seconds. For desk use, it's a non-factor. Just know the battery life itself is only at the 30th percentile, so you'll probably need those spares.
Q: How does this compare to a Surface Pro for business?
The Surface Pro 11 runs full Windows, has far better connectivity, and a much stronger feature set. The ThinkTab only wins if you need Android, a rugged build, or a swappable battery. For most business users, the Surface Pro is the better tool.
Who Should Skip This
If you're looking for a tablet for entertainment, art, or general productivity, this isn't it. The screen is mediocre, the chip is underpowered, and the feature set is nearly empty. Go get an iPad, a Galaxy Tab S series, or even a Xiaomi Pad instead. You'll get a better experience for less money.
Verdict
The ThinkTab X11 Gen 1 is a purpose-built device for a very specific use case: field work where you need a swappable battery and a rugged shell. For that narrow scenario, it's fine. For everyone else, it's a mediocre tablet with weak connectivity, a mid-range chip, and a disappointing screen. Buy it only if the removable battery and MIL-STD rating are non-negotiable. Otherwise, get an iPad, a Galaxy Tab, or even a Surface Pro.
