★★★★☆ 4.4 (134)

Metal-trimmed resin shells with 26dB passive isolation and a detachable silver-plated cable offer a comfortable fit and easy customization. This IEM suits audiophiles and musicians prioritizing hi-res music monitoring over call clarity, given its 18.4 call score.

What owners think

The Word on the Street

4.4/5 (134 reviews)
👍 Owners are blown away by the sound quality, especially the clear mids and wide soundstage for gaming.
🤔 The fit is a constant talking point, with a clear divide between those with larger ears who find them comfy and everyone else who's out of luck.
👎 A recurring gripe is that the treble can be painfully sharp, and the short cable feels like an afterthought.

The proof

Performance

We were genuinely surprised by the soundstage. Our database puts these in the 99th percentile for sound, and it shows. In games, footsteps aren't just left or right, they have depth and height. The 4 high-frequency BAs pull out an almost absurd amount of detail in treble, though that's a double-edged sword. For some, it's a revelation. For others, it's a one-way ticket to Sibilance City. The bass from the dual low-frequency BAs is fast and textured, not a bloated mess, which is exactly what we want from an armature setup.

vs Competition

Stacked against mainstream wireless buds like the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro or Apple AirPods Pro 3, the AS16 PRO is a completely different animal. It's wired, has no ANC, and the mic is terrible for calls. But for pure, critical listening, it obliterates them in detail retrieval. The Sony WF-C700N offers a warmer, more forgiving sound in a much smaller package, but it can't touch the AS16 PRO's soundstage. This is a specialist's tool, not an all-rounder.

Price

Value & Pricing

This is a steal. You're getting a 16-driver setup for under $100, and the sound quality alone justifies twice the price. Just know you're paying for the audio engineering, not the plastic shell or the cable. If pure sonic performance per dollar is your only metric, it's hard to beat.

Overview

The CCA AS16 PRO is a wild ride. It stuffs 8 balanced armature drivers per side into a shell that costs less than a nice dinner, and the result is a detail monster that will absolutely wow you on first listen. The one thing to know is that these are huge, both in physical size and sound. If you have smaller ears, stop reading and look elsewhere. But if they fit, you're getting a level of clarity and soundstage that has no business being under $100.

Common Questions

Q: Are these good for gaming?

Absolutely. The soundstage and imaging are the real deal. You can pinpoint footsteps and gunshots with a level of precision that feels like a competitive advantage.

Q: Will these fit my ears?

Only if your ears are on the larger side. The shells are seriously chunky. If you've had trouble with other IEMs feeling too big, these will almost certainly be a problem.

Q: Do I need an amp to drive these?

Nope. With a 15Ω impedance and 105dB sensitivity, they're very easy to drive. Your phone's headphone jack or a basic dongle will get them plenty loud.

Who Should Skip This

If you're looking for a comfortable daily driver for calls and commutes, this isn't it. Go get a set of Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro or Sony WF-C700N instead. They offer wireless convenience, good ANC, and a fit that won't make your ears ache after 30 minutes.

Verdict

If you have medium-to-large ears and want to hear every microscopic detail in your music or games, just buy these. The AS16 PRO is an unapologetically niche IEM that prioritizes technical performance above all else. It's not for casual listening, it's not for calls, and it's definitely not for small ears. But for the right person, it's a giant-killer.
