LG UltraGear 39GX90SA-W 39" White 2025

A stunning 240Hz OLED ultrawide with a curve that wraps around your brain. Just double-check the listing before you buy, because some of them are showing the wrong specs.

The performance numbers are top of the charts. A 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response time put this in the 98th percentile for performance, which means it's basically as fast as gaming monitors get right now. The 1300-nit peak brightness is a standout for OLED, and the 98.5% DCI-P3 coverage means colors pop after you fix the out-of-box calibration. What surprised us? The built-in webOS 24 actually works well. You can stream Netflix or jump into GeForce NOW without a PC attached. That's a genuinely useful trick for a monitor this size.

Against the ASUS ROG Strix XG27UCDMG and MSI MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2, the LG wins on sheer immersion. Those are 27-inch 16:9 panels, great for competitive shooters, but they can't touch the 39-inch 21:9 curve for sim racing or open-world games. The Samsung Odyssey G60SD is closer in spirit, but it's still a 16:9 panel. If you want the ultrawide OLED experience, the LG is the one to beat. The Dell UltraSharp U4025QW is the productivity alternative, but it's not a gaming monitor at heart.

Pricing is all over the place. We're seeing USD 689 to USD 1,600 across five US listings, which is a wild spread. If you can find it near the low end, it's a steal. At the high end, you're paying early-adopter tax for a monitor with a misleading listing problem and no burn-in warranty. Shop around. The best deal we're seeing is on the lower end of that range, so don't pay full retail.

The LG UltraGear 39GX90SA-W is a big, beautiful, and fast ultrawide OLED that pulls you into the game like few monitors can. The one thing to know? That 800R curve is aggressive, and it's the whole point. It wraps around your field of view in a way that makes flat 34-inch ultrawides feel like looking through a window. But there's a catch: some listings are showing specs for a 5K2K model while shipping this 3440 x 1440 panel. That's a real problem, and it's soured what should be a slam-dunk launch.

If you're looking for a 5K2K productivity monitor, this isn't it. Go get the Dell UltraSharp U4025QW instead. And if you're a competitive esports player who wants the absolute fastest 16:9 panel, the ASUS ROG Strix XG27UCDMG or MSI MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2 will serve you better. This LG is for immersion junkies who want to feel the game wrap around them.

The LG UltraGear 39GX90SA-W is a fantastic gaming monitor held back by a confusing product listing and a few OLED-specific worries. If you can find it at a good price and you're okay with tweaking the calibration, it's one of the most immersive gaming displays you can buy right now. Just make sure you're actually getting the 1440p model you're expecting, and maybe budget for a good warranty.
