Mit einer Lichtstärke von f/1.4 und einem optischen Aufbau aus 13 Elementen mit 2 asphärischen und 3 ED-Linsen liefert dieses 21mm-Objektiv eine randschärfe Abbildung selbst bei offener Blende. Die Naheinstellgrenze von nur 230 mm und der maximale Abbildungsmaßstab von 1:2 erweitern die kreativen Möglichkeiten über die reine Landschaftsfotografie hinaus. Es eignet sich am besten für Porträt- und Makro-Fotografen, die mit einer Leica M eine extreme Weitwinkelperspektive mit ausgeprägter Freistellung kombinieren wollen.
