The Sony's main advantage now is its price on the used market and that huge library of E-mount lenses.

Pricing on this kit is all over the map, with a wild spread from $2,098 to over half a million dollars, so you absolutely need to shop around. At the low end, grabbing a full-frame body with two lenses is a decent entry point into the Sony system. But if you're paying anywhere near the higher end of that range, you're getting fleeced. For the money, you can find newer bodies with stabilization and better video features.

The Sony a7 III was a landmark camera when it dropped, and this bundle tosses in a 28-70mm zoom and a 50mm f/1.8 prime to get you started. It's a full-frame workhorse built for stills, with Eye AF that still holds its own for portraits and events. But let's be real, the specs here are showing their age, especially the fixed display and total lack of stabilization. If you just want to take great photos and don't need the latest bells and whistles, it'll serve you well. Everyone else should look at newer options.
