Performance
The ANC here is a standout, landing in the top tier of our database. It crushes airplane drone and office chatter without that weird pressure feeling some competitors have. The mic setup is also impressive, with four mics doing serious work to keep your voice clear on calls. Battery life is solid at 24 hours, though Immersive Audio knocks it down to 18. The sound profile is about average for the price, which is the one spot where Bose plays it safe. Build quality is a weak spot, mostly plastic and not as premium as the price tag suggests.

vs Competition
The Sennheiser MOMENTUM M5AEBT is the one to cross-shop if you care about sound quality first. Sennheiser gives you richer, more detailed audio, but Bose wins on ANC and call clarity. The Sony ULT WEAR WHULT900N/B is a cheaper alternative with punchy bass and solid ANC, but it doesn't touch the Bose mic quality. If you want the best noise cancellation and don't mind average sound, the Bose is the pick. If you want better sound and can live with slightly weaker ANC, go Sennheiser.

Value & Pricing
At USD 323 in the US, this is a premium buy. But the EUR spread is wild, from EUR 361 to EUR 544 across two listings. If you're in Europe, shop around. The ES listing at EUR 361 is the one to grab. At the higher end of that range, you're paying too much for plastic build and average sound. At the lower end, it's a fair deal for the ANC alone.

Overview
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra is what happens when Bose decides to flex. The ANC is still the main event, but the new Immersive Audio mode is the real headline. It takes your music out of your head and puts it in front of you, and it's genuinely weird at first, then you miss it when it's off. This is the pair to beat if you want the best noise cancellation and a fun spatial trick in one package.
Common Questions
Q: Does Immersive Audio drain the battery faster?
Yes. You get 24 hours with it off and 18 hours with it on. It's a noticeable hit, but 18 hours is still plenty for most people.
Q: Is the build quality really that bad?
It's not bad, just not premium. The plastic feels sturdy but not luxurious. For this price, you'd expect metal arms and a more solid feel. The Sennheiser MOMENTUM feels more premium in hand.
Q: Can I use these for gaming?
You can, but the latency over Bluetooth isn't ideal for fast-paced games. For casual gaming or single-player stuff, it's fine. For competitive gaming, get a dedicated gaming headset.
Who Should Skip This
If you're an audiophile chasing the best sound quality, this isn't it. The sound is fine, but the Sennheiser MOMENTUM M5AEBT or Technics EAH-A800 will give you more detail and richness. Go get one of those instead.
Verdict
The Bose QuietComfort Ultra is the best noise cancelling headphone for most people, full stop. The Immersive Audio is a bonus that actually works, and the call quality is the best we've tested from Bose. Just don't expect audiophile sound or a premium build. If ANC and calls are your priority, buy it. If sound quality is your priority, look elsewhere.
