• GPU performance is a massacre: the RTX 5080 in the G14 scores 35,666 on benchmarks vs 59 for the Surface's integrated Adreno. That's not a typo. The G14 runs modern games at high settings; the Surface struggles with anything beyond light indie titles.
• Storage and RAM tell the same story: 2TB SSD and 32GB RAM on the G14 vs 256GB and 16GB on the Surface. You'll fill that Surface drive with a few games and some photos, and 16GB gets tight fast if you multitask heavily.
• The Surface wins on portability and battery. It's fanless or near-silent, gets noticeably better real-world battery life, and has a brighter 600-nit display vs 500 nits on the G14. Owners consistently praise the Surface's keyboard and trackpad as Apple-tier.
• ARM compatibility is the Surface's dirty secret. Real owners report Photoshop Elements and some Epson printer drivers simply won't install. If your workflow depends on specific Windows software, check compatibility before buying or you'll be in for a bad time.
• The G14's OLED panel at 2880px resolution beats the Surface's IPS at 2496px for color depth and contrast, but G14 owners mention fan noise during gaming and Armoury Crate bloatware as real annoyances. You'll want to spend 20 minutes tuning it with G-Helper to get the battery life people rave about.
