Apple MacBook Pro 14.2" M4 Max Silver 2024
HP 15 15.6" 15-fc0018ca Natural Silver
Buy the MacBook Pro M4 Max if you edit 4K video, compile massive codebases, or run local AI models and need a machine that won't flinch.
Buy the HP 15 if you're on a tight budget and just need something for web browsing, email, and light document work.
Key Differences
- The M4 Max scores 43,903 in multi-core benchmarks vs the Ryzen 3's 8,448. That's not a gap, that's a different universe.
- You get 64GB of RAM and 4TB of NVMe storage on the MacBook vs 8GB and 512GB on the HP. The MacBook can hold entire video projects in memory; the HP will struggle with 20 Chrome tabs.
- The MacBook has Wi-Fi 6E while the HP is stuck on Wi-Fi 6, so you'll get faster wireless speeds and less congestion on the MacBook.
- Customer sentiment tells the real story: MacBook owners consistently praise it as a workhorse for heavy photo and video editing with zero significant complaints, while the HP sits at a mediocre 3.0/5 rating.
- The HP wins exactly two categories out of 21, and those are basically 'it's cheap' and 'it turns on.' The MacBook dominates everything from gaming to AI workloads to battery life.
