Microsoft Surface Laptop 15" 7 Black 2025
Samsung Galaxy Book5 Pro 14" NP940XHA-KG3US Gray 2025
The Surface Laptop 7 makes sense if you need 64GB of RAM for heavy multitasking or dev work, want that 600-nit screen for outdoor use, and don't care about GPU muscle.
Grab the Galaxy Book5 Pro if you want a gorgeous OLED display, real GPU performance for light gaming or creative work, and a laptop that feels premium without weighing down your bag.
Key Differences
- The Galaxy Book5 Pro's Intel Arc GPU scores 5484 on benchmarks vs the Surface's Adreno at 59. That's a 92.9x gap, so any GPU-accelerated task or light gaming is basically off the table on the Surface.
- Display tech is night and day: Samsung packs a 2880px OLED panel while Microsoft sticks with a 2496px IPS screen. OLED means true blacks and punchier colors, but the Surface counters with 600 nits vs 400 nits for better outdoor visibility.
- RAM tells a different story: the Surface maxes at 64GB while the Samsung tops out at 32GB. If you're running VMs, large datasets, or a million browser tabs, the Surface has the edge despite losing on raw CPU benchmark scores.
- Weight matters if you travel: the Galaxy Book5 Pro comes in at 1.23 kg vs the Surface's 1.66 kg. That's a noticeable difference when it's in your backpack all day.
- Real-world sentiment backs the Samsung too. Owners consistently praise its build quality, OLED display, and battery life across 117 reviews, while the Surface only has 16 reviews and one user already hit a printer connectivity snag.
