• The ASUS has a discrete RTX 5080 with a 35,666 GPU benchmark score, while the HP's integrated Intel Arc 140V scores just 5,484. That's a 6.5x gap, which means the difference between playing Cyberpunk at high settings and struggling with Minecraft shaders.
• The ASUS packs a 12-core Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 with 24MB of L3 cache versus the HP's 8-core Core Ultra 7 258V with 12MB. Multi-core score: 35,028 vs 18,901. For rendering, compiling, or running local AI models, the ASUS finishes in nearly half the time.
• Display quality is no contest. The ASUS has a 2880px OLED panel at 500 nits, while the HP makes do with a 1920px IPS screen at 400 nits. OLED blacks and higher brightness matter a lot for HDR content and working in bright rooms.
• Both have 2TB of storage and 4.7-star ratings, but owners report different trade-offs. ASUS users gripe about fan noise during gaming and Armoury Crate bloatware, while HP users mention pre-installed bloatware and tight USB ports. Neither is perfect out of the box.
• The HP wins on size and quiet operation. It's a 17-inch machine that runs cool and silent, which makes it better for office work or shared spaces. The ASUS is a 14-inch ultraportable that trades silence for performance when you push it hard.
