Yongnuo 85mm F1.8S DF DSM 85mm
The Yongnuo 85mm f/1.8 Z-mount lens is widely praised for its sharpness, fast autofocus, and excellent value compared to the much pricier Nikon equivalent. Many users highlight its compact, lightweight metal build and pleasing bokeh, making it a great choice for portrait photography. However, some reviewers report significant flare, chromatic aberration, and vignetting, especially on full-frame cameras, and there have been compatibility issues with the Nikon Zf that were later addressed by a firmware update. A few users also note that the lens hood does not lock securely and that the focus ring can be accidentally moved too easily.
Pros
- Excellent sharpness for the price
- Fast and quiet autofocus
- Compact and lightweight metal build
- Pleasing bokeh
- Great value for money
Cons
- Significant flare and chromatic aberration
- Strong vignetting on full-frame cameras
- Lens hood does not lock securely
- Focus ring can be accidentally moved easily
- Compatibility issues with Nikon Zf (resolved by firmware update)
