What Buyers Say
Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 XTX PULSE 24GB GDDR6
The Sapphire Pulse RX 7900 XTX is widely praised for its excellent price-to-performance ratio, offering massive 24GB VRAM and strong rasterization that rivals the RTX 4080 at a much lower cost. Users highlight its cool and quiet operation, though some note it runs hot in cases with poor airflow and requires a high-wattage PSU (800W minimum, 1000W recommended). A few negative reviews mention receiving a wrong item (keyboard instead of GPU) or driver issues that were resolved by upgrading other PC components. Overall, it's considered a beast for gaming and 3D work, but not ideal for eGPU setups.
Pros
- Excellent price-to-performance ratio
- Massive 24GB VRAM
- Cool and quiet operation
- Strong rasterization performance
- Great for gaming and 3D work
Cons
- Requires high-wattage PSU (800W min, 1000W recommended)
- Runs hot in cases with poor airflow
- Power spikes up to 400W
- Not ideal for eGPU setups
- Driver issues reported (resolved with system upgrades)
MSI GeForce RTX 4080 Suprim X 16GB GDDR6X
This card delivers strong 4K performance and impressively quiet cooling, staying around 65°C under full load. Upgraders from 3080 or 1080Ti see gains, but the leap from 3080 to 4080 is modest — some suggest jumping to 4090 or waiting. The card is very large (nearly 4 slots tall) and heavy, requiring a spacious case and a stable support bracket; the included pillar stand is finicky. The 12VHPWR adapter needing three 8-pin cables is awkward, and the software leaves much to be desired, but the hardware itself is a beast.
Pros
- Excellent 4K gaming performance
- Very quiet operation
- Low temperatures under load (~65°C)
- Great for video/photo editing and 3D work
- Aesthetically pleasing with perpetual lighting option
Cons
- Very large and heavy (almost 4 slots)
- Included support stand is finicky and unstable
- 12VHPWR adapter requires 3x 8-pin cables
- High price tag (~$1500 USD)
- MSI Center software is not great
