What Buyers Say
Panasonic LUMIX S S1RII Black 2025
The Panasonic Lumix S1R II is praised for its exceptional image quality, hybrid capabilities, and powerful features, making it a favorite among those switching from other brands. However, a significant number of users report severe overheating issues during video recording, even in controlled environments and after firmware updates, which limits its reliability for professional video work. While stills photographers find it fantastic, videographers are divided, with some experiencing no problems in hot conditions. Audio preamp noise is also noted as a drawback despite the XLR adapter.
Pros
- Exceptional image quality
- Powerful hybrid capabilities
- Great stills performance
- Excellent autofocus in all video modes
- Robust build quality
Cons
- Severe overheating during video recording
- Noisy internal audio preamps
- Lacks dedicated timecode input
- No USB-C to Ethernet streaming support
- No PC sync terminal for studio flash
