What Buyers Say
Canon EOS R5 Mark II R5 Mark II Black 2024
The Canon EOS R5 Mark II is widely praised for its exceptional autofocus, especially for sports and wildlife, with many users noting a significant upgrade from the original R5. However, several reviewers report overheating issues during extended use, particularly in warm conditions, and some express disappointment with high ISO noise and occasional freezing or autofocus failures. The camera's pre-capture and eye-tracking features are game-changers for action photography, but the need for new LP-E6P batteries to unlock full functionality is a common frustration.
Pros
- Exceptional autofocus speed and accuracy
- Excellent for sports and wildlife photography
- Pre-capture feature for action shots
- Eye-tracking autofocus works well
- Improved viewfinder with no blackout
Cons
- Overheating during extended use
- High ISO noise at higher settings
- Occasional freezing and lockups
- Autofocus failures in some conditions
- Requires new LP-E6P batteries for full functionality
Nikon Z Z7 II Black 2020
The Nikon Z7 II is highly praised for its exceptional 45.7MP image quality, superb dynamic range, and solid build. Users love the lighter weight compared to DSLRs like the D850, the excellent EVF, and the ability to adapt F-mount lenses via the FTZ adapter. The autofocus is generally accurate for portraits and landscapes, but many note it lags behind competitors, especially for fast action and birds in flight. Battery life is a common concern, and the dual card slot design (CFexpress/XQD + SD) is seen as a practical compromise. Overall, it's a fantastic value for high-resolution stills photography.
Pros
- Exceptional 45.7MP image quality
- Superb dynamic range and sharpness
- Lightweight and comfortable ergonomics
- Excellent electronic viewfinder (EVF)
- F-mount lens compatibility via FTZ adapter
Cons
- Autofocus lags behind competition for action
- Battery life is shorter than DSLRs
- Dual card slots are mismatched (CFexpress + SD)
- No built-in GPS
- No native pancake lens for compact travel
