EVGA GeForce RTX 3070 XC3 8GB GDDR6
The EVGA RTX 3070 is widely praised as a powerful upgrade from older cards like the GTX 1070 or RTX 2060, offering excellent 1440p gaming with high frame rates and quiet, cool operation. Users appreciate the solid build quality and value, especially when purchased at a discounted price. However, some buyers report issues such as coil whine, a dead-on-arrival DisplayPort, or GPU failure after a few months, with one noting that Amazon's 90-day return policy leaves them with a potentially unwarrantied used card. Size is also a concern: the card is large and may not fit in smaller cases or clear certain drive cages.
Pros
- High 1440p performance and frame rates
- Quiet and cool operation
- Solid build quality
- Good value when discounted
- Great upgrade from older GPUs
Cons
- Potential coil whine
- GPU failure after a few months
- Large size may not fit all cases
- Limited warranty on used purchases
- DisplayPort issues on some units
