Dell Precision 15.6" 3510 Black
HP OMEN Transcend 14" 14-fb1023dx Shadow Black 2025
Buy the Dell Precision 3510 only if you need a dirt-cheap used workstation for basic office tasks and don't care about modern performance, display quality, or gaming.
Buy the HP OMEN Transcend 14 if you want a premium gaming and creator machine with a stunning OLED display, serious CPU power, and solid battery life in eco mode, especially if you can snag an open-box deal.
Key Differences
- CPU: The OMEN packs a 16-core Intel Core Ultra 9 285H vs the Precision's 4-core i7-6820HQ from 2015. That's 4x the cores and roughly a decade of architectural improvements.
- GPU: RTX 5070 with 8GB VRAM vs AMD FirePro with 2GB. The OMEN scores 96 in gaming vs the Dell's 10. The FirePro was never meant for games, and it shows.
- Display: 3K OLED vs TN panel. Owners consistently rave about the OMEN's screen, while TN panels are the bottom of the barrel for color and viewing angles.
- RAM: 32GB LPDDR5X vs 16GB DDR4. The OMEN doubles the capacity with much faster memory, though it's soldered so you can't upgrade it later.
- Storage: 1TB SSD vs 512GB NVMe. The Dell technically wins on storage type, but that's like winning a participation trophy. The OMEN gives you double the space.
