What Buyers Say
FiiO FT13
The FiiO FT13 PurpleHeart headphones earn mostly positive feedback for their stunning wood craftsmanship, excellent build quality, and standout bass performance. However, opinions are divided on their treble—some find it exciting while others call it sibilant—and the fit can be problematic for certain head shapes. A few verified owners warn that these are not a universal upgrade over the cheaper FT1 and that the best results require burn-in and a warm, neutral DAC/amp pairing.
Pros
- Stunning PurpleHeart wood craftsmanship
- Excellent build quality
- Powerful, deep bass
- Great cable and accessories
- Comfortable for many users
Cons
- Treble can be sibilant on some tracks
- Fit issues for certain head shapes
- Needs burn-in to sound best
- Not a universal upgrade over FT1
- Better with specific DAC/amp pairing
Sony WH-1000XM6
The Sony WH-1000XM6 earns praise for its exceptional noise cancellation, clear sound quality, and comfortable fit for many users, with several calling it the best headphones they've owned. However, a significant number of reviews highlight serious drawbacks: uncomfortable clamping force and shallow earcups causing pain, buggy multipoint Bluetooth connectivity, a fingerprint-prone finish, and disappointing customer service regarding warranty repairs and promised free gifts. While the ANC and audio are top-tier, comfort and reliability issues prevent it from being a universal recommendation.
Pros
- Exceptional noise cancellation
- Clear and detailed sound quality
- Comfortable for many users
- Long battery life
- Foldable design
Cons
- Uncomfortable clamping force
- Shallow earcups causing pain
- Buggy multipoint Bluetooth
- Fingerprint-prone finish
- Poor customer service
