Apple MacBook Pro 14.2" M4 Max Silver 2024
Microsoft Surface Laptop 15" 7 Black 2025
Get the MacBook Pro M4 Max if you edit 4K or 8K video, run local AI models, compile massive codebases, or do any heavy creative work where render times directly cost you money.
The Surface Laptop 7 is for students, office workers, and casual users who want a Windows machine for email, docs, browsing, and streaming without spending MacBook Pro money.
Belangrijke verschillen
- RAM: 64GB on the MacBook Pro vs 32GB on the Surface Laptop 7. Double the memory means way more headroom for virtual machines, large datasets, and heavy multitasking.
- Storage: 4TB vs 512GB. The MacBook Pro gives you eight times the space, which matters if you're working with raw footage, photo libraries, or big game installs.
- Weight: 1.60kg vs 2.67kg. The MacBook Pro is over a full kilogram lighter despite packing dramatically more powerful hardware, which is honestly kind of embarrassing for the Surface.
- Performance scores: 99 vs 15 overall. The MacBook Pro crushes it in every category, especially developer (98 vs 19) and creator (79 vs 7) workloads. The Surface isn't even in the same league.
- Price gap: the MacBook Pro M4 Max with these specs runs around $3,099+, while the Surface Laptop 7 sits closer to $1,000-$1,500. You're paying triple for roughly 6-7x the capability, but only if you'll actually use it.
