Apple MacBook Pro 14.2" M5 Max Space Black 2026
HP OMEN Transcend 14" 14-fb1023dx Shadow Black 2025
Pick the MacBook Pro M5 Max if you're a developer, video editor, or AI tinkerer who needs 64GB of RAM, 8TB of storage, and the fastest laptop CPU Apple has ever shipped.
Grab the HP OMEN Transcend 14 if you want a premium gaming laptop with a gorgeous OLED panel and a discrete RTX 5070, especially if you can snag an open-box deal that owners say makes it a steal.
Differenze chiave
- CPU is a blowout: the M5 Max scores 57,744 in multi-core benchmarks versus 34,200 for the Intel Core Ultra 9 285H, a 1.7x gap that shows up in everything from code compiles to video exports.
- GPU flips the script: the HP's discrete RTX 5070 hits 28,703 in GPU benchmarks while Apple's 40-core integrated GPU manages 22,130, so the OMEN wins gaming 96 to 60 despite losing nearly every other category.
- Storage and RAM aren't even close: the MacBook Pro ships with 64GB of RAM and an 8TB NVMe SSD, while the HP comes with 32GB and 1TB, and owners confirm the OMEN's RAM is soldered so you can't upgrade it later.
- Display tech is a trade-off: the MacBook's Mini-LED panel hits 1600 nits of brightness, triple the HP's 500 nits, but the OMEN's OLED screen delivers deeper blacks and better contrast, which owners consistently call stunning.
- Value story matters: the HP's 4.6/5 rating from 287 reviews highlights open-box deals as a major selling point, while the MacBook Pro M5 Max commands a premium price for specs that most people will never fully use.
