ASUS
The laptop offers excellent value for the price, with a snappy i5-1235U processor, good build quality despite being plastic, and a compact 14" form factor that's easy to carry. However, the screen suffers from poor viewing angles and a washed-out look unless angled perfectly, the keyboard is not backlit, and the trackpad can be unreliable. Several verified buyers reported serious issues: one unit died after three months, and another was sold without a valid manufacturer warranty. Despite the positives, reliability and quality control concerns temper the recommendation.
Pros
- Snappy i5-1235U processor performance
- Good build quality despite plastic body
- Compact and lightweight 14" form factor
- Quick NVMe SSD and fast boot times
- Excellent value for the price
Cons
- Screen washed out at non-ideal angles
- Keyboard not backlit
- Plastic trackpad can be temperamental
- No extra SSD port for expansion
- Tampered screw prevents RAM/SSD upgrade
