What Buyers Say
PNY GeForce RTX 3090 XLR8 24GB GDDR6X
The PNY GeForce RTX 3090 XLR8 delivers immense raw power, easily handling 4K gaming, ray tracing, and demanding AI workloads like GPT-2 training or deep learning with 24GB of VRAM. Many users praise its performance and quiet operation, though they flag its gigantic size, the need for a support bracket, mediocre RGB software, and disappointing build components like pre-applied thermal paste that wore out quickly. A few owners experienced failures after several months, with one reporting an LHR lock after five months and another noting a missing warranty sticker. Overall, it's a top-tier card for those who can afford it and have the space, but reliability concerns and lackluster value keep it from universal praise.
Pros
- Extremely powerful performance for gaming and AI
- Silent operation under load
- 24GB VRAM for deep learning workloads
- Good ray tracing and DLSS support
- Smaller size than other 3090 brands for mid cases
Cons
- Very large size requiring support bracket
- Mediocre RGB software with limited options
- Pre-applied thermal paste wore out quickly
- LHR lock appeared after 5 months for one user
- Some units failed within months
Sapphire Radeon RX 7900 XTX PULSE 24GB GDDR6
The Sapphire Pulse RX 7900 XTX is widely praised for its excellent price-to-performance ratio, offering massive 24GB VRAM and strong rasterization that rivals the RTX 4080 at a much lower cost. Users highlight its cool and quiet operation, though some note it runs hot in cases with poor airflow and requires a high-wattage PSU (800W minimum, 1000W recommended). A few negative reviews mention receiving a wrong item (keyboard instead of GPU) or driver issues that were resolved by upgrading other PC components. Overall, it's considered a beast for gaming and 3D work, but not ideal for eGPU setups.
